The project is based on the adoption and exploitation of natural, physical and chemical principles, scientifically proven by consolidated studies and research, which demonstrate the effectiveness and benefits of the use of polyphenols in human and animal health. The activities were focused on understanding these principles and translating them into an industrial infrastructure capable of creating a product that meets the qualitative requirements of the market. This path involved carrying out scientific research, experiments, simulations and tests, technical-scientific analyzes and verifications, industrial and engineering implementations. During the period of the project, the work team, made up of experienced personnel in the various disciplines involved (biology, chemistry, mechanical engineering, information technology, management), operated in the research of extraction methodologies and in the engineering of the production process, to in order to pursue the company objectives and those of the project itself (definition and implementation of a stable and codified industrial process, development of a technique for the production of a cocktail with a high concentration of polyphenols and in particular of hydroxytyrosol, implementation of a process that allows to make the product at low cost). In parallel with the implementation of the production process, the company worked on the development of a business model for the commercial exploitation of the products, which took into account their properties and the elements that emerged during the design, implementation and start-up of the plant. The result of these activities is a business development strategy based on a deeper knowledge of the reference markets (always in line with the business model based on the supply of the active ingredient to subjects able to implement specific solutions on each of the vertical markets identified. ) and on a production site capable of producing significant quantities of product, respecting the qualitative parameters required by the market and the ability to create a product with high quality technical characteristics.
